Amtrak appointed William Feidt executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective Feb. 6. Feidt most recently served as senior vice president of financial operations at Cable & Wireless Communications in Miami, where he oversaw capital planning, procurement finance support for the global telecommunications company's central operations. "Bill is an experienced and operationally-oriented financial executive with a strong technology background," said Amtrak President and Chief Executive Officer Wick Moorman in a press release. "He will be joining Amtrak's executive team as we look to continue to improve our finance capabilities and lay the foundation for continued growth."Amtrak's current CFO Gerald Sokol will leave the company in mid-February after serving a brief transition period with Feidt.
