New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy last week nominated Kris Kolluri as the new chief executive officer of the Gateway Development Commission, a partnership between the two states and Amtrak that coordinates delivery of the Gateway rail infrastructure program.
Kolluri served as commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Transportation from January 2006 to December 2008. In his capacity as DOT commissioner, Kolluri served as chairman of New Jersey Transit, the New Jersey Turnpike Authority and the South Jersey Transportation Authority.
The Gateway Development Commission's board will consider Kolluri’s nomination on May 16.
Gateway program partner agencies include the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and NJ Transit. The program calls for a series of rail infrastructure expansion and renovation projects along the Northeast Corridor between Newark, New Jersey, and New York City.
