San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG) is accepting sealed bids for the Laurel Street grade separation until Aug. 1.

The $34 million project is located along Laurel Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and La Cadena Drive in Colton, Calif. The work calls for grade separating Laurel Street under BNSF Railway Co. tracks at a current grade crossing.

A six-track rail bridge and a two-lane roadway bridge will be built. In addition, the project includes the construction of abutments to accommodate a future rail bridge.

SANBAG also is accepting sealed bids for the Palm Avenue grade separation until Aug. 20. The agency proposes to grade separate Palm Avenue over BNSF tracks and Cajon Boulevard about 300 feet north of a current crossing in San Bernardino.

Estimated to cost $13 million, the project involves the construction of a new connector from Palm Avenue to Cajon Boulevard around a new detention basin to accommodate onsite drainage, and a slight realignment of Industrial Parkway and its intersection with Palm Avenue.

In addition, SANBAG is accepting sealed bids for on-call transit and rail services until Aug. 8.

The services to be provided may include all work necessary from conceptual planning through implementation of railroad and non-railroad transit projects, and other transit corridor planning projects. The selected consultant will provide a variety of services, including those associated with rail and transit systems; multi-modal and transit centers; rail and transit maintenance facilities; and support facilities.
