advertisement

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) yesterday announced it approved construction authorization from the Ohio Rail Development Commission directing CSX and Norfolk Southern Railway to improve four grade crossings.

CSX will install lights and gates at the County Road 270/Dixie Highway crossing in Allen County, while both CSX and NS will upgrade circuitry and install new lights and gates at the East Wilson Bridge Road crossing in Franklin County.

NS also will install lights and gates at the Norwood Avenue crossing in Lucas County, and upgrade active warning devices at the Union Avenue crossing in Stark County.

All the work will be covered by federal funding. PUCO has directed the railroads to complete the upgrades by November 2019.
