On Friday, Lario Logistics L.L.C. announced its Bakken Oil Express L.L.C. (BOE) subsidiary expects to complete “The Bakken Oil Express Rail Hub” later this month in the Bakken Shale near Dickinson, N.D. The multiple shipper unit-train loading operation will be served by BNSF Railway Co.

Lario Logistics also announced that BOE executed a long-term agreement with Eighty-Eight Oil L.L.C. to provide transload services at facility, which will receive crude oil via pipelines and trucks, and load unit trains to transport the oil to out-of-state markets.

The hub’s facilities will include two, 8,000-foot-long rail loops and a truck center with six bays. Initial capacity will be more than 100,000 barrels per day, but plans to add more rail loops, tanks, rail loading racks and pipeline connections are designed to expand capacity to more than 250,000 barrels per day, Lario Logistics officials said in a prepared statement.

“We see the rail hub as a strategic asset for the industry as crude oil production continues its strong growth over the next few years,” said BOE Managing Director Steve Magness.
