Toyota last month awarded CSX its Rail Quality award to recognize the Class I's customer service efforts and teamwork across the railroad's automotive sales, operations and Total Distribution Services Inc. (TDSI) divisions.
To qualify for the award, railroads need to deliver at least 99.84% of vehicles damage-free. CSX exceeded that with a damage-free delivery rate of 99.87%, Toyota determined.
The award recognizes the collaboration between multiple CSX teams. Operations teams ensure the timely and safe handling of vehicles, while the TDSI divisions focus on continuous improvement strategies.
Toyota commended CSX for its customer-focused approach and for delivering quality service. The automotive manufacturer presented the award to CSX team members last month in Plano, Texas.
