CSX has designed the RailPort Logistics Mobile park in Mobile, Alabama, as a Platinum CSX Select Site, the Class I announced this week.

The park is the fourth site in Alabama to receive the Platinum Select Site CSX designation. Platinum sites must meet criteria in infrastructure and utility availability, environmental reviews, zoning and entitlement, air quality permitting, rail serviceability and proximity to highways or interstates.

Recent expansions at the Port of Mobile make the 500-plus acre RailPort Logistics Mobile park a desirable location for industrial users seeking the benefits of rail and proximity to the port, CSX officials said in a press release.

Scannell Properties, the park’s developer, will initially prioritize developing nine industrial buildings on 390 acres, at least four of which will be served by CSX.

Scannell Properties plans to invest $15 million into transportation infrastructure upgrades at the park, CSX officials said.
