CSX's annual Santa Train will make its 2024 run on Nov. 23, the Class I has announced.
Traveling 110-miles from Shelbiana, Kentucky, to Kingsport, Tennessee, the festive train will deliver more than 15 tons of toys, backpacks and winter clothing to families along the route, CSX officials said in a press release.
The Santa Train has been traveling the same route through Appalachia to spread Christmas spirit annually since 1943, apart from 2020 and 2021 during the pandemic is inspired by the generations of families who support the longstanding event, said Brian Tucker, CSX vice president of stakeholder engagement and sustainability.
“The CSX Santa Train is a cherished longstanding tradition and a significant part of CSX’s history,” said CSX President and CEO Joe Hinrich. “We are grateful for another year of giving back and delivering the magic of the CSX Santa Train.”
CSX Santa Train’s sponsors include Appalachian Power, Food City, Kingsport Chamber of Commerce and Soles4Souls.
