Later this month, CSX Intermodal (CSXI) will merge with CSX Transportation. The companies, both of which are headquartered in Jacksonville, Fla., will combine on or about June 26.
“CSXI will no longer be a separate entity,” said CSX Corp. spokesman Gary Sease in an email. “We are combining the sales force and related support activities of CSXI into CSXT.”
Founded in 1988 and a wholly owned CSX subsidiary, CSXI employs more than 1,000 and operates more than 30 intermodal terminals in the United States. The company also manages its own truck operations and a dedicated fleet of domestic containers.
