President Donald Trump will unveil a $1 trillion infrastructure plan this year that will address more than transportation, U.S. Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao said yesterday, according to Reuters.

Chao said at an event at the U.S. Department of Transportation's headquarters yesterday that the infrastructure plan would include "a strategic, targeted program of investment valued at $1 trillion over 10 years. The proposal will cover more than transportation infrastructure, it will include energy, water and potentially broadband and veterans hospitals as well," Reuters reported.

The administration plans to offer incentives for public-private partnerships rather than simply provide government funding for infrastructure improvements, Chao said.
