The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) is inviting the public to comment on the department's goals and strategy for fiscal years 2022-2026.
USDOT is seeking to reshape its priorities and policies to better reflect accessibility, reliability and safety goals throughout the nation’s transportation systems. The recently passed Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act represents an opportunity to invest in the nation’s economy as well as confront climate change, USDOT officials said in a press release.
The framework draft will reflect U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s strategic goals addressing safety; economic competitiveness' equity in access to transit services; climate and sustainability; and research and innovation.
Comments will be accepted until Dec. 17.
