The California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) last week elected Dan Richard to serve as chairman to succeed Thomas Umberg, who resigned from the post last month.

Umberg will continue to serve as a board member.

California Gov. Jerry Brown appointed Richard to the CHSRA board in August 2011. Principal of Dan Richard Advisors since 2010, he previously served as managing partner and co-founder of infrastructure finance firm Heritage Oak Capital Partners. From 1992 to 2004, Richards served on the Bay Area Rapid Transit Board, including two terms as president.
