The California High-Speed Rail Authority will host an industry forum in Sacramento on Friday to educate potential contractors interested in the agency's future rail-delivery contract. The authority currently is seeking statements of qualifications from firms interested in the contract, as the state's high-speed rail program expands from the planning and design phases to project delivery and operations. For the future contract, authority officials will seek an expanded team with proven experience in large scale program management and international high-speed rail technical delivery, authority officials said in a press release.Earlier this month, California Gov. Jerry Brown, the authority, and state as well as federal government officials formally broke ground on the project to build a high-speed rail system between San Francisco and Los Angeles.
