The Federal Railroad Administration recently awarded the Delaware Department of Transportation $450,000 to conduct a feasibility study for passenger-rail service linking the Northeast Corridor and Maryland’s Delmarva Peninsula. Funds are being provided through the High Speed Intercity Passenger Rail Program (HSIPR).

Delaware DOT will provide $450,000 in matching funds. To date, the FRA has obligated more than $1.6 billion in HSIPR funding.
