CSX Intermodal recently added lanes to STAX, a domestic-container program offering intermodal shippers 53-foot high-cube containers and logistics services.

The program now is available in seven lanes originating from Baltimore; seven from Boston; seven from Chicago and five from East St. Louis, Ill.; two from Cleveland and two from Columbus, Ohio; one from Indianapolis; five from Kansas City, Mo.; four from Philadelphia; three from Savannah, Ga.; two from South Kearny, N.J.; five from Syracuse, N.Y.; nine from Memphis, Tenn.; four from Worcester, Mass.; and four from Ft. Lauderdale, four from Jacksonville, three from Tampa and four from Miami, Fla.

Some eastern lanes involve CSX Transportation; Florida lanes involve Florida East Coast Railway.

In conjunction with Union Pacific Railroad, CSXI also offers coast-to-coast service with STAX containers, which include 110-inch door openings and floors designed to withstand 24,000 pounds.
