The Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) today reported it moved 5.7 million 20-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in fiscal-year 2025 that ended June 30.
The year was the second highest TEU year to date after FY2022, which reached 5.76 million TEUs moved. It is also an 8.6% increase compared to FY24, port authority officials said in a press release.
“Georgia Ports continues to grow U.S. East Coast market share and with the shifting trade patterns in Asia and India, that bodes well for our future,” said Griff Lynch, president and CEO.
The ports averaged more than 475,000 TEUS handled per month in FY25, with March, April and May each reporting over 500,000 TEUs. During the fiscal year, GPA completed $470 million in projects and approved an additional $472 million for new projects, including an upgrade to rail capacity at the Port of Brunswick's Colonels Island terminal; the addition of a fourth berth for roll-on/roll-off cargo at the Port of Brunswick; and the redevelopment of the Ocean Terminal at the Port of Savannah.
