The Oregon Department of Transportation this week announced $46 million in funding for 21 multimodal projects in the state.
The funding is part of Connect Oregon, a state initiative that invests in non-highway modes of transportation, ODOT officials said in a press release.
Funds announced include:
• $7.4 million for the Port of Portland’s Terminal 6 Berth 607 container capacity expansion, a $10.5 million project;
• $2.1 million for Morrow County Grain Processors’ Boardman Rail transloading facility grain storage, a $3 million project;
• $1.1 million for Teevin Brothers Land & Timber Co. LLC’s Westport multimodal terminal siding, a $1.6 million project;
• $999,300 to upgrade Oregon Eastern Railroad track to accommodate 286,000-pound capacity, a $1.7 million project;
• $892,860 for rail replacement in Lake County, a $1.3 million project;
• $692,000 for Columbia Rail’s Milton-Freewater-area short line customer track expansions, a $989,000 project; and
• $155,330 for Hampton Lumber Sales’ track expansion, a $221,900 project.
For this latest round of Connect Oregon funding, ODOT received 51 applications.
