Last month, transportation, intermodal and logistics services provider Schneider National de Mexico received the Premio Nacional de Logística, a national logistics award in Mexico.

Schneider National was chosen as the top winner in the logistics supplier category for its Mexico Direct intermodal service. The award was presented at Mexico’s Expologística by a consortium of judges that included Mexico’s secretary of economy and representatives from several universities, transportation publications, and trade and transportation groups. The award recognizes Schneider National’s transportation cost savings and enhanced freight security versus other modes, and environmental sustainability.

Offered since 2009, the Mexico Direct service provides nonstop, borderless intermodal transportation from the United States and Canada into bonded rail terminals in Monterrey, San Luis Potosi and Mexico City, Mexico, and back. Schneider National provides the service with Kansas City Southern.

Schneider National — which also offers a Canada Direct intermodal service with CN — recently marked the 20th anniversary of its operations in Mexico.
