Twin Eagle launches terminal operations at Texas rail park

Twin Eagle Sand Logistics LLC, a third-party frac sand terminal developer and operator, has begun commercial operations at the Permian Rail Park near Big Spring, Texas.

The 530-acre park is Twin Eagles' fifth terminal development and is centrally located to serve the eastern side of the Permian. It is located on Union Pacific Railroad track about 8 miles west of Big Spring.

The project's first phase involved more than 33,000 feet of rail track, which will be initially used for rail-to-truck frac sand transloading services.

The next phase calls for developing a loop track capable of supporting crude-by-rail market activity, as well as infrastructure to handle trucking solutions for both crude and frac sand, company officials said in a press release.
