Kansas City Southern de México S.A. de C.V. (KCSM) recently named Jorge Medina assistant vice president of intermodal sales for Mexico.

He joined KCSM in March when Kansas City Southern acquired the Puerta Mexico intermodal facility in Toluca, Mexico. Medina, who has 17 years of intermodal transportation experience, had served as the facility’s director general since 2007, and prior to that, was Puerta Mexico’s chief operating officer.

He previously managed the sales, marketing and business development functions for Queretaro’s intermodal facility, and as a marketing and public relations consultant, was involved in the development of the Iberoamerican Network of Trade and Logistics, and privatization of Mexico’s port and rail services.

“The acquisition of Puerta Mexico was very important to the advancement of KCSM’s intermodal franchise,” said KCSM President and Executive Representative Jose Zozaya in a prepared statement. “Retaining Jorge Medina and his familiarity with the marketplace is an important element of the future success of our intermodal business.”
