The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen (BLET) tentatively agreed to a new contract with the St. Lawrence & Atlantic Railroad (SL&A).

Ratification ballots have been mailed and are due April 28, 2021, BLET officials said in a press release.

BLET organized the SL&A in August 2013. A subsidiary of Genesee & Wyoming Inc., the railroad operates 162 miles of track and interchanges with the New Hampshire Central Railroad in North Stratford, New Hampshire, and Pan Am Railways in Danville Junction, Maine.

Top commodities transported by the railroad include chemicals, plastics, lumber and forest products, petroleum products, pulp and paper.
