The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen announced yesterday it reached tentative contract agreements with the South Buffalo Railway Co. (SBRR) and the Illinois Railway.

Ratification ballots for both agreements will be counted on Feb. 10, BLET officials said in a press release. The union didn't provide information on the terms of either agreement.

Illinois Railway employees are members of Division 682, while SBRR workers are members of Division 16.

Illinois Railway is an OmniTRAX Inc. subsidiary and operates 113 miles of track. The short line interchanges with BNSF Railway Co., Canadian Pacific, CN, CSX and Union Pacific Railroad.

Owned by Genesee & Wyoming Inc., SBRR operates 52 miles of track in New York state and interchanges with CN, CP, CSX and Norfolk Southern Railway. The SBRR's operations are merged with the Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad.
