CN yardmasters choose UTU representation

Yardmasters employed on Canadian National Railway Co.'s Wisconsin Central Division recently selected the United Transportation Union as their labor representative, according to a National Mediation Board-certified vote announced by UTU. The workers previously were not represented by a union.

UTU officials plan to begin negotiating an agreement with CN covering wages, benefits, work rules and health care.

The union currently represents yardmasters under 43 separate contracts with Class Is, regionals, terminal companies, commuter lines and Amtrak.
