The International Association of Machinists (IAM) have voted to ratify a five-year national collective bargaining agreement with the National Carriers Conference Committee (NCCC).
IAM is the ninth union to finalize a national contract in the 2025 bargaining round. With this ratification, nearly half of all union-represented employees at freight railroads are covered by a ratified or pending collective bargaining agreement, NCCC officials said yesterday in a press release.
The ratified agreement follows the pattern set by other national and local agreements in the 2025 bargaining round. IAM-represented employees will receive 18.8% wage increases over the contract’s five-year lifetime, enhancements to health and welfare benefits with no increase to employee contribution rate and access to more paid vacation time earlier in their careers.
