A&R Logistics Inc., a supply chain services company for the chemical industry, has opened a new facility at Ameriport Industrial Park in Baytown, Texas.
A&R currently operates three facilities at the park, totaling 800,000 square feet. The company is purchasing select operating assets and assuming the lease formerly held by Baytown Packhouse, A&R officials said in a press release.
"This capacity expansion ... will further enable us to provide world-class export services and represents another milestone in the buildout of our 360-degree supply chain offering," said Mark Holden, chief executive officer at A&R. "Demand from our customers has grown considerably over the past few years."
Ameriport Industrial Park is served by BNSF Railway Co. and Union Pacific Railroad. Rail Logix provides rail services, such as on-demand switching and rail-car storage, in the park.
