Patriot Rail Co. announced yesterday it completed its acquisition of short-line holding company Pioneer Lines Inc. following regulatory authorization.
Based in Jacksonville, Florida, Patriot now operates 31 railroads, doubling its total railroad holdings. Patriot now operates in 23 states, company officials said in a press release.
"Doubling our footprint across the United States furthers our commitment to exceed customer expectations as a best-in-class rail partner," said Patriot CEO John Fenton. "Patriot Rail takes great pride in delivering value to our customers with safety always as our core foundation, and our expansion will drive deeper commercial and logistics relationships."
Patriot Rail acquired Pioneer Lines from BRX Transportation Holdings.
