Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) is slated to begin dynamic train testing for the Warm Springs Extension project early next month.Tests will be performed on non-service BART trains on the new 5.4 miles of track extending south from the agency's station in Fremont, Calif., to the new Warm Springs/South Fremont Station. Now that critical construction of the new station is nearly complete, testing will be done to ensure safety prior to opening the line to the public. Dynamic testing is part of a "robust" testing series that began in spring 2015, BART officials said in a construction notice.Dynamic testing includes running trains at appropriate speeds, train acceleration and deceleration, braking and stopping, and communications with the operations control center.Train and systems testing will continue through the start of service in 2016, BART officials said.
