The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada is soliciting comments from Indigenous Peoples and the public on Cando Rail & Terminals' proposed expansion of the Cando Sturgeon Rail Terminal in Sturgeon County, Alberta.

The Cando Sturgeon Rail Terminal West expansion project calls for doubling the existing terminal's capacity by increasing the project footprint by about a half mile. CN serves the existing terminal.

The larger terminal would operate for at least 50 years and be a full-service and multipurpose facility for storing, sorting, maintaining and transloading rail cars, according to an agency press release.

Comments on the project are due April 4 and can be submitted via the project home page.
