Union Tank Car, Kelso Technologies to jointly produce, peddle pressure-relief valves

Yesterday, Union Tank Car Co. (UTLX) and Kelso Technologies Inc. announced they signed a five-year agreement to jointly manufacture and market Kelso's JS SRV pressure-relief valves.

UTLX will install Kelso's externally sprung safety valves on new tank cars, offer the valves as replacements for certain tank cars leased to bulk liquid shippers and help Kelso develop new valves.

In addition, UTLX affiliate McKenzie Valve and Machining Co. will retain exclusive U.S., Mexico and Canada manufacturing rights for all Kelso JS SRV pressure-relief valves — including the JS75 SRV — sold within the North American rail industry. Last year, the Association of American Railroads certified the JS75 SRV valve for North American tank-car market.

Kelso will be responsible for marketing, sales, technical support and post-sale services.
