The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) yesterday approved the upgrade of nine rail crossings in Henry, Wayne and Wood counties — work that will be completed by CSX Transportation and Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway.The improvements, which will include mast-mounted flashing lights and roadway gates, are scheduled for completion in July 2016, according to a PUCO press release.Federal funding for the projects is being provided through the Ohio Rail Development Commission.CSX will upgrade four rail crossings in Bartlow Township, Henry County, and a crossing at Weston Road/Township Road 42 in Milton Township, Wood County. Wheeling & Lake Erie will upgrade four crossings in Wayne County.
