Holland L.P. recently acquired Industrial Metrics Inc.'s assets and business, including the Rangecam Track and Wheel Maintenance and Engineering software.

Based in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Industrial Metrics offers the Rangecam software suite for managing, analyzing and reporting track and wheel measurement data. Track Analyst and Track View products help support rail replacement, rail grinding, track maintenance and crosstie replacement planning; Rangecam Wheel Analyst offers tools for analyzing the wheel-rail interface and wheel wear; and Rangecam Field System provides on-board control and data analysis functions for mobile track geometry and optical rail measurement systems. Industrial Metrics President Gordon Cornwall and his software development team will continue to serve the company and develop Rangecam products.

The acquisition augments Holland's growing gauge restraint measurement system, geometry and rail wear track measurement services provided through its North American fleet of TrackSTAR" testing units, said Robert Madderom, general manager of Holland's railway measurement systems and services division, in a prepared statement.

Meanwhile, Canadian railway construction services provider PNR RailWorks Inc. has acquired Entretien de Voies Ferrees Coyle Inc. (E.V.F. Coyle Inc.), Quebec's largest railroad contractor.

Entretien de Voies Ferrees Coyle will operate under the name PNR Coyle Inc., and retain its management team and employees. The company provides track construction, maintenance and rehabilitation services and materials to industries and short lines, including the Quebec North Shore & Labrador Railway.

The acquisition will expand PNR RailWorks' geographic reach in a growing eastern Canada railway construction market, said PNR RailWorks President Jamey Craig.
