FRA seeks grant applications for maglev projects
advertisement
Today, the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) will begin accepting applications from states seeking to obtain $45 million in available grant funding for proposed magnetic levitation projects east of the Mississippi River.
The SAFETEA-LU Technical Corrections Act of 2008 limits eligible projects to those in or between Pittsburgh, Baltimore-Washington, D.C., and Atlanta-Chattanooga, Tenn. The FRA might award one or more grants that can be used for preconstruction planning activities and the capital costs of fixed guideway infrastructure.
