Ridership on California's three state-sponsored Amtrak routes continued to climb in November. However, the gains were modest since the totals include ridership from the Thanksgiving holiday, according to the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority, which manages one of the routes.

Ridership on the Auburn-to-San Jose Capitol Corridor totaled a record 140,288, up 2.7 percent compared with November 2007's total. The Oakland-Sacramento-Bakersfield San Joaquins service carried 81,550 passengers, up 3.8 percent, and San Diego-to-San Luis Obispo Pacific Surfliner carried 228,224 riders, up 0.8 percent.
