On Dec. 31, longtime rail industry veteran Paul Reistrup will retire from CSX Transportation, where since 1997 he’s served as vice president-passenger and operations planning.
Reistrup's 40-year career includes international experience and service as Amtrak's second president. He joined CSXT to integrate the railroad's expanded post-Conrail passenger and commuter operations.
"With his vast railroad experience of Amtrak in its early development stages, Paul brought an added dimension to this role for which we are grateful," said CSXT Executive Vice President-Transportation Al Crown in a prepared statement.
John Gibson was promoted to succeed Reistrup; Jay Westbrook was named assistant vice president-passenger and operations planning. Both will report to CSXT Senior Vice President-Service Design Frank Pursley.
