Amtrak passengers soon might find booking trips a little easier — and a little cheaper.



Last week, Amtrak and Hotels.com signed a three-year agreement under which Amtrak’s reservation agents would transfer customers interested in hotel accommodations to the Web site’s sales agents. Passengers will be able to book discounted rooms at more than 500 destinations.



The agreement will enable the two agencies to serve a wider customer base, according to a prepared statement.
