Amtrak Jan. 10 appointed James Weinstein senior vice president of Northeast Corridor, effective Feb. 4, succeeding Stan Bagley, who last year was promoted to executive vice president of operations.

Weinstein has served as commissioner of New Jersey Department of Transportation since 1998 and, as such, also chairs New Jersey Transit Corp.’s board. He previously served as board member of Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, commissioner of the Delaware River Port Authority, and chairman of the Port of Philadelphia and Camden.

Lynn Bowersox, who served as acting senior vice president for the past six months, will "play an important and expanded role in the corridor as we move forward," Amtrak President and Chief Executive Office George Warrington in an employee advisory.
