Today, Vice President Joe Biden and U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood will hold a roundtable discussion with governors and state transportation officials on the high-speed rail grant program, which is included in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. State leaders will have the opportunity to share their ideas about high-speed rail with the Administration in advance of this summer's application process. Participating governors include Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle, Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon, Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue, Illinios Gov. Pat Quinn and Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell.
