Caltrain next month plans to remove the existing Quint Street Bridge in San Francisco and replace it with a new berm. The current 100-year-old bridge has been deemed structurally deficient and does not meet existing seismic safety standards, Caltrain officials said in a news release.Earlier this month, San Francisco closed a portion of Quint Street so that Pacific Gas & Electric Co. can relocate and replace an underground gas line near the project site.Work to replace the bridge with a new berm is expected to begin early next month and last six months, Caltrain officials said.
