For the second consecutive year, the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority (CCJPA) posted a double-digit ridership gain in February.
Ridership rose 11 percent to a record 138,516 in February compared with a year ago, CCJPA officials said in a prepared statement. They attributed the increase to rising gasoline prices, the train’s 94 percent on-time performance and certain customer amenities.
“For over three years, the Capitol Corridor has ranked number one in the nation for reliable passenger-rail service for a system of its size,” said CCJPA Chairman Bob Franklin.
