Connecticut DOT solicits public input on Hartford Line rail program

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will host an in-person public information meeting on Oct. 22 about Phase 3B of the Hartford Line Rail Program.

The public is invited to share feedback and ask questions via this webpage. The project will improve capacity for the Amtrak Hartford Line corridor by establishing a double track between West Hartford and Hartford, CTDOT officials said in a press release. 

Construction of the double track is anticipated to begin in summer 2026, dependent on the availability of funding, rights of way and purchase approvals. Construction will cost about $61 million. Sixty-three percent of the cost will be federally funded 37% will be stated funded.

Public comments and questions also can be summitted online here during the two-week public comment period following the Oct. 22 meeting, or until Nov. 5.
