Denver city, county and airport officials have asked the Regional Transportation District of Denver (RTD) and Federal Transit Administration to consider adding another rail station to the East Rail Line, which is part of RTD's FasTracks project.

RTD will host a public meeting on July 18 to discuss the environmental re-evaluation of the proposed station on the line, according to a post on the agency's FasTracks website.

The city, county, Denver International Airport and developer Fulenwider have requested the Aviation Station be built at 61st Avenue and Pena Boulevard.

The East Rail Line, now under construction, is a 22.8-mile commuter-rail corridor that will run between Denver Union Station and Denver International Airport. The line is being constructed as part of the Eagle P3 Project.
