FTA recognizes Fort Worth transportation agency for outstanding performance

The Fort Worth Transportation Authority's (The T) board has received the Federal Transit Administration's (FTA) regional "Transit System of the Year" award for "outstanding operations." The Texas agency received a perfect score on its FTA triennial review for large urban transport providers.

The audit-like review assesses an agency's compliance with FTA federal requirements for grant practices and programs over three years. The T achieved zero findings on its review, an accomplishment that is rare, FTA Region VI Administrator Robert Patrick said in a letter to The T's board.

"The T is committed to continuing its outstanding performance record and partnership with FTA, as it seeks to expand and enhance its public transportation system, and provide more passenger rail and advanced bus systems to support the rapid population growth and expanding mobility needs of Tarrant County and the north Texas region," said The T's Chairman Gary Cumbie in a prepared statement.
