The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) has now signed a contract with a Skanska USA Civil/Traylor Brothers Inc. joint venture to construct the Regional Connector in downtown Los Angeles.

The total contract value for the joint venture firm — known as Regional Connector Constructors — is $918 million. Skanska USA Civil will include its $574 million share in its second-quarter bookings, company officials said in a press release.

The Regional Connector project involves the design and construction of a 1.7-mile, double-track light-rail subway in downtown L.A. that will feature three new stations. Construction is expected to be completed in October 2020.
