MARTA meets with local businesses along proposed Clifton Corridor light-rail route

Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) representatives have begun visiting local businesses to gather input on the proposed Clifton Corridor light-rail line.

They'll continue meeting with businesses located along the corridor through Oct. 19, according to a MARTA news release.

The line would provide a link between MARTA's Lindbergh Center Station in Atlanta and the Avondale Station in DeKalb County.

MARTA began exploring public transit options along the corridor in 2009. Following a comprehensive analysis of several modes of transit, the agency in 2012 adopted light-rail transit as the locally preferred alternative, according to a project fact sheet.

Throughout the planning process, MARTA's Clifton Corridor planning team will continue to inform and educate corridor stakeholders through public forums and community events, agency officials said.
