St Louis’ Metro has named Jessica Mefford-Miller chief of planning and system development. She will be responsible for managing the planning, scheduling, research and development, and customer service departments.

Most recently acting chief of planning and system development, Mefford-Miller joined Metro in 2006 as manager of transit research. In 2007, she was promoted to director of research and development.

Mefford-Miller previously served as a GIS specialist for the U.S. National Park Service and was a member of the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Division of Urban and Corridor Planning.

Metro operates the 46-mile MetroLink light-rail and MetroBus systems.
