Metra customers have taken more than 1 million rides using mobile tickets on the new Ventra App, the Chicago-based commuter railroad announced last week. The milestone came two months after the app was launched by Metra, the Chicago Transit Authority and Pace. The first of its kind to allow customers to pay for rides on all three transit systems, the Ventra App offers a range of functions, including purchasing Metra mobile tickets, Ventra account management, and accessing real-time transit tracker information.Customers have purchased 221,000 Metra tickets, which were used to pay for the 1 million rides, Metra officials said in a press release.About 44 percent of all purchases in the app were attributable to Metra, while the remainder were for CTA and Pace.
