NCTD receives FTA grant for parking study at Solana Beach station

The North County Transit District (NCTD) will receive a $338,580 grant from the Federal Transit Administration to continue exploratory work at a station in Solana Beach, Calif.

The goal of the project is to “balance mixed use commercial and/or residential development with easy access to a variety of transit services while coordinating with the surrounding neighborhood,” NCTD officials said in a prepared statement.

The grant will be used for a transit parking study, which is key to the project’s development, they said.

“The grant will aid in the transit district and city’s goal of developing and implementing a train station transit parking study that will ultimately lead to a long-term parking solution for the Solana Beach Train Station Transit Center users,” said Solana Beach City Manager David Ott.
