Patriot Rail began service on its newest excursion line, the Gettysburg Excursion Railway, on Sept. 5.
Trains depart from the restored 1884 Depot and showcases 1950s-era Budd passenger cars, which have upgraded for comfort, while preserving historic character, Patriot Rail officials said in a press release.
The Gettysburg is the fourth in Patriot Rail's growing excursion division. Other excursion railroads operated by Patriot Rail are the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway in Georgia and the Granite State Railway in New Hampshire.
The Gettysburg Excursion offers rides on weekends and themed trips during holidays.
Patriot Rail owns 31 short lines that operate across 1,260 miles of track. The company offers transloading, storage and industrial development services, among other solutions.
