The Regional Transportation District of Denver (RTD) has instituted a three-year collective bargaining agreement with Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1001 (ATU).
The agreement includes a 16.3% wage increase over three years for ATU-represented employees, who comprise about two-thirds of RTD's workforce. Retroactive to Jan. 1, the agreement extends through Dec. 31, 2027, RTD officials said in a press release.
In addition to wage increases, tenured employees will gain more vacation time sooner. The collective agreement was ratified by ATU members and later approved by the RTD's board on July 29.
"The collaboration demonstrated by the bargaining teams during negotiations amplifies a collective commitment to One RTD," said RTD General Manager and CEO Debra Johnson. "This [agreement] ensures that employees within the ATU 1001 bargaining unit receive competitive, market-based wages."
