SEPTA Web site gets a makeover

Yesterday, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) launched an enhanced Web site offering enhanced navigation and new transit information features.

Accessible at www.septa.org, the revamped site includes better access to schedules, service and fare information, and drop-down menus.

"An updated Web site is an essential tool if we are going to effectively communicate with our customers and attract new riders to the system" said SEPTA General Manager Fay Moore in a prepared statement. "More people are using the Internet as their primary information source, and SEPTA must be prepared to meet the needs of an increasingly technology-savvy ridership."

The redesigned site also includes PDF formats for all service schedules to enable SEPTA to post current schedules and upcoming timetable changes at the same time; an e-recruitment site enabling users to view current career opportunity listings, apply online or electronically submit resumes for future referral; an enhanced map of all SEPTA routes that feature addresses, and service, sales, parking and fare information for all SEPTA rail stations; news and information; and a calendar with information on SEPTA events and rider promotions.
